1. Agreement
This document remains a draft. The owner must approve legal, tax, refund, retention and contact terms before release. No service-level or refund policy is established by the local implementation.
By using specspool.com or the Specspool API (together, "the service"), you agree to these terms. If you use the service for an organization, you agree on its behalf. If you don't agree, don't use the service.
2. The service
Specspool provides a catalog of hardware specifications for phones, tablets, and smartwatches, available on the website and through a REST API. We may add, change, or remove features, endpoints, and data. We'll try to announce breaking API changes in the changelog ahead of time. Public browsing has request and pagination bounds; API access has plan and ingress abuse limits. These controls do not guarantee that scraping is impossible.
3. Accounts
Some features require an account. Keep your credentials and any API keys confidential; you're responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly at hello@specspool.com if you think your account has been compromised.
4. Plans and payment
Free tier
The free tier is for evaluation, prototyping, and other non-commercial use, up to the billable-unit quota shown on the pricing page. Using free-tier access in a commercial product requires a paid plan.
Paid usage
Standard uses prepaid USD credit at $0.03 per billable unit. A full-spec device uses one unit; comparisons use one unit per device compared. Comparing 20 devices uses 20 units and costs $0.60. Top-ups are $10, $25, $50 or $100 through Stripe, with no automatic top-ups. Admitted errors, HEAD and 304 responses count; authorization, quota, ingress and credit denials do not. Customer listing/search policy rejections and invalid comparison bodies also do not count. A committed request can count even if its response is lost, and retries are new requests. The pricing page describes which requests are billable.
Verified payment activates prepaid Standard for a Free account. Existing administrator-managed access remains distinct. Plan changes retain unused credit. Refunds and disputes, including partial refunds, pause prepaid access and new top-ups for manual owner reconciliation; recorded debt is preserved. Applicable refund rights, tax treatment and future pricing notice require approved release terms. Contact us about a payment issue.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- exceed rate limits or quotas, or work around them (for example by rotating accounts or keys);
- scrape the website instead of using the API, or bulk-copy the catalog to offer a competing specifications database;
- resell or redistribute raw API access;
- interfere with the service, probe it for vulnerabilities without permission, or access it in ways we don't provide;
- use the service in violation of any law.
We may suspend or end access that breaks these rules.
6. Catalog data
You may display specifications obtained through the API in your own product, subject to your plan. Product names and trademarks belong to their owners. Specifications are compiled from public sources and may contain errors or omissions; check critical values with the manufacturer.
7. No warranty
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, and uninterrupted availability. The status page reports current availability only and isn't a service-level commitment.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Specspool is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
9. Ending use
You can stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as sections 6 to 8) continue after termination. Account deletion retains pseudonymous usage and payment evidence, recorded credit and debt for reconciliation; it does not automatically grant a refund. Retention and deletion policy must be approved before release.
10. Changes and contact
We may update these terms and will change the date at the top when we do. Continuing to use the service after an update means you accept it. Questions go to hello@specspool.com. See also our privacy policy.
